Luxor Day Tour from Hurghada
To travel all the way to Hurghada and not make a day trip to the ancient city of Luxor would be a shame. It’s just a four hour drive from Hurghada, which makes it such a popular excursion for tourists. There’s lots to fit into a full day trip to Luxor, but all of this makes the journey even more rewarding.
*Itinerary:
Early in the morning our professional English speaking driver will collect you in one of our air-conditioned cars to drive you to Luxor where our guide will begin your itinerary. Firstly visit the West Bank and The Valley of the Kings one of Luxor's greatest attractions. Surrounded by stark barren landscape, this spectacular place is one of the greatest burial grounds in the history of mankind. This ancient burial site houses over 60 Egyptian kings and pharaohs the most famous of all King Tutankhamun. Take the opportunity to go inside and see 3 of the Tombs while you’re there. Next a short ride to see Hatshepsut Temple, this is the burial place of Egypt's sole female Pharaoh Hatshepsut, whose mortuary temple is one of the sites most impressive architectural structures. We then stop to admire the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Time then to head over to the East Bank set on the opposite side of the river, to see the breath-taking Karnak Temple in all its glory and try and fathom out just how the ancient Egyptians managed to build on such a gigantic scale with more than 30 Pharaohs thought to have contributed to its construction.
Be sure to carry plenty of sun cream and water and take a hat and sunglasses too. Unlike Hurghada, there is no sea breeze in Luxor, so it can get very, very hot.
