Dendera Day Tour From Hurghada

Early in the morning an English speaking driver will collect you in one of our air-conditioned cars to drive you to Upper Egypt,  where your Egyptologist guide will begin your itinerary of Dendera Temple​.

​Dendera Temple is the best well preserved temple in Egypt, with the ancient temple complex dating back to the Ptolemaic dynasty. The last Egyptian temple built during the Greek and Roman’s time, it is dedicated to the gods Hathor of love, happiness, Joy and Music. Dendera is one of the few Egyptian temples with an intact astronomical ceiling and accessible rooftop, which offers fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. At the rear of Dendera temple, you can see the beautiful carving of Queen Cleopatra VII.  There are scenes depicted in the walls that characterize the Roman emperor Trajan paying homage mainly to the Ancient goddess Hathor, as well as other mythical reliefs that garnish this magnificent Graeco Roman temple. Walk by several Roman booths, pass through the colossal gateway of Domitian and Trajan that is surrounded by an enormous mud-brick enclosure and come into the cavernous hypostyle hall of Tiberius. Admire its majestic construction, within the walls are the temple, two birth houses, a Coptic basilica, a sacred lake and a temple of Isis. It was a site for chapels from the beginning of history of ancient Egypt. 

After sightseeing in Dendera, you will be dropped back to your hotel in Hurghada.
